We want to give you the chance to get to know our instructors. So, this month we’re introducing some of our best, including an NHL Hall-of-Famer, Roger Federer’s coach, and a talented multi-instrumentalist who’s toured with Katy Perry and the Goo Goo Dolls.
With features on the likes of The Players Tribune and Barstool Sports’ podcast; Spittin Chiclets, NHL Hall-of-Famer Adam Oates is becoming one of the most talked about coaches in the hockeysphere today.
Tomorrow’s interview with Adam Oates is soooooo goood. I generally feel smarter about the game of hockey after listening to him talk. Guy is a guru.

Oates, the former head coach of the Washington Capitals has taken a different approach to coaching, now working as a private skills development coach for various NHL star and prospect players.
“I have a lot of video of every guy. And every guy has his own strengths and weaknesses. And we kind of enhance the strengths and work on the weaknesses.” Oates said in an interview with The Players Tribune.
Along with on-ice skill development, Oates coordinates video analysis sessions with his players so that they can fully understand what they could be doing differently on the ice and how that will translate to bettering their game and remaining injury free.
“What we do, it’s not practice. It’s not. There’s no whistles. It’s more cerebral, it’s more talking about your game, thinking about your game, growing your game.” Oates told The Players Tribune.
Oates method and mentality has become quite popular among NHL players. He currently works with many NHL stars, including Conor McDavid, Mark Scheifele and Steven Stamkos.
Paul Annacone is not only a former world-renowned professional tennis player, he is also an experienced coach who’s worked with some of the greatest tennis players in the world today.
Annacone is the former coach of open-era leader in Grand Slams Roger Federer. He has worked with the tennis GOAT since 2010, leading Federer to two straight year-end championships in 2010 and 2011, his seventh Wimbledon Championship, as well as a return to the World No. 1 ranking.
Annacone was able to help Federer achieve such success due to his experience coaching former World No. 1 Pete Sampras, and his understanding that at an elite level coaches should not be “overhauling” a player’s game.
“Most of the work at that level is strategic — within that strategy is balancing the emotional and psychological. They are great players, you are not overhauling their game. You are tweaking it and implementing a strategy that they believe in and that can hold up under pressure” Annacone told thehindu.com.
In the most recent years, Annacone has placed a focus on younger players, working with US Open champion Sloane Stephens, and American professional player Taylor Fritz. Overall, Annacone’s coaching expertise has brought him 37 singles titles.
