September Legend Lineup

From legendary music producers, to world champion athletes and performance coaches, Scoolu is constantly evolving our legend lineup so that you can learn from the best.

We want to give you the chance to get to know our instructors. So, this month we’re introducing some of our best, including Steph Curry’s skills coach, Jorge Blanco’s keyboardist and Lady Gaga’s world-renowned drummer.

Brandon Payne

Brandon Payne is widely known in the basketball world, training over 100 National Basketball Association (NBA) and Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) athletes from all over the world.

Payne currently trains three-time NBA champion and two-time Most Valuable Player, Steph Curry.

Curry has spent years training under Payne’s wing, improving his game by following Payne’s philosophy in combining mind, body and basketball skills to accelerate player growth.

“Every time I talk to him, he has a new idea,” Curry told mercurynews.com. “He has a new thought. He has a new plan of attack. He has something different that makes me think.”

Pierre Jamerson

Pierre Jamerson, Jorge Blanco’s current keyboardist, discovered his passion for the piano at the young age of 12. Jamerson underwent lessons and training in various genres, including classical, jazz and gospel.

After studying piano, music theory and ear training at a university level, Jamerson went on to become the teacher himself. He opened a music school and studio in 2015, teaching piano, producing, writing, recording and mixing records.

Jamerson’s talent has earned him the opportunity to play keyboards for many established brands, including Disney/Hollywood, Rozzi and Free Chapel OC.

George “Spanky” McCurdy

George “Spanky” McCurdy is a world-renowned drummer and up-and-coming producer whose experience is as vibrant as his nickname.

The proud native of North Philadelphia has worked with Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kanye West, Timbaland and Justin Timberlake. On top of these impressive collaborations, Spanky also served as the lead drummer for Lady Gaga for six years.

The dynamic drummer joined Lady Gaga during her successful “The Monster Ball Tour”, which accumulated close to a quarter of a billion dollars. Spanky also contributed in Gaga’s ground-breaking performance at the 2016 Oscars.

Spanky’s love for music and compelling style has given him the title as one of the top musicians today.
